About me

I am a Board Certified Specialist in Rheumatology at the rank of Clinical Professor of Medicine & Rheumatology in New York City. I have held several full-time faculty positions in top US Medical Schools such as Weill Cornell and New York University (NYU) at the level of Clinical Professor of Medicine/Rheumatology.

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Ioannina Medical School in Greece and became a Research Scholar at Northwestern University College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Afterwards, I completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, while my Rheumatology Fellowship took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York Presbyterian/Cornell Campus.

I have expertise in the treatment of autoimmune disorders including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis/Axial Spondyloarthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, CPPD disease, Recurrent Pericarditis, IgG4-RD, dermatomyositis/polymyositis, SLE-lupus, Lupus Nephritis, Behcet's, Sjogren's syndrome, Vasculitis, ANCA Vasculitis, Giant Cell Arteritis, Takayasu's arteritis, Periodic Fever Syndromes, Systemic Sclerosis/Scleroderma, Osteoporosis, Auto-inflammatory Syndromes, and Adult Still's Disease. I have been publishing extensively in peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks and have served as a Clinical Investigator in multiple international randomized controlled trials. I have served as an ad hoc reviewer and editorial board member in peer-reviewed rheumatology journals and am frequently invited as a speaker at national and international medical conferences. I was ranked Top Doctor in Rheumatology in the 2011-22 "US News & World Report" & "NY Magazine".
