Neurologist and neurointensivist with a focus on stroke, neurocritical care, neurological emergencies and all other neurological disorders.
I am a board-certified neurologist, neurointensivist and full professor of neurology with more than 20 years of clinical and academic experience. My current position is Director of Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Department of Neurology at St. John’s Hospital in Vienna, where I specialise in acute stroke care, neurocritical care but also in general neurology.
My training and academic background span several European institutions, including Comenius University Bratislava, Vrije Universiteit Brussels, University of Heidelberg and the Cambridge University. I also hold board certification in intensive care in neurology from Germany and a European Master in Stroke Medicine from University Krems, Austria.
Throughout my career I have focused on improving outcomes in patients with all types of acute brain injury, stroke, neurological emergencies and all other neurological disorders. I am an active member of national and international stroke and neurological societies and a Fellow of the European Stroke Organisation.
