Medical oncologist focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and research in the field of targeted therapies. Director of the metastatic breast cancer program and co-director of the brain metastases program.
I was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1975. Upon graduating from the University of Vienna, I worked as a physician in training at different Viennese hospitals, including St. Anna Children’s Hospital, an academic centre for paediatric haematology.
In 2002, I joined the Clinical Division of Oncology at the Medical University of Vienna, working closely with other breast cancer specialists within the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Study Group (ABCSG). From 2009 to 2010, I was the director of the breast centre at the Elisabethinen Hospital Linz. Since 2010, I've been an associate professor of medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. I currently serve as director of the metastatic breast cancer program and co-director of the brain metastases program.
Additionally, I'm a member of the ABCSG executive committee. My main scientific interest is the identification of resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies. I have published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Clinical Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Lancet Oncology.
