Personalised oncology

Personalised oncology is a comprehensive diagnostic test that examines the genetic structure of your tumour cells. Using a sample of tumour tissue or blood, we can identify specific gene mutations and recommend the best available targeted therapies for them. Thanks to targeted therapy, you can avoid unnecessary and ineffective treatment and find the most suitable one for your cancer type instead. To order the diagnostic test follow the steps below.

1.

Fill out a short order form in which you specify your cancer type.

2.

We will contact you with some additional questions about your health condition next.

3.

A sample of your tumour tissue or blood will be requested and shipped to a laboratory.

4.

A personalised report will be prepared within 21 days of delivering the sample to the laboratory.

Cancer and targeted therapies

Cancer is caused by alterations in the DNA, known as mutations, which cause cells to multiply and grow uncontrollably. While this is true for all cancer types, the differences in these mutations give each cancer its own identity. Understanding the genomic characteristics of individual tumours opens up the option for personalised targeted treatments. Targeted therapies revolutionise treatment by precisely addressing the unique molecular features of cancer cells. This precision minimises harm to healthy cells and enhances the effectiveness of the treatment while reducing its side effects.

Personalised oncology report

Patients receive a list of approved therapies and effective registered drugs for their specific genetic mutation (depending on the country, 30-100% of recommended therapies are commonly available). Given the wide range of possible genetic mutations, patients also receive recommendations for potentially effective therapies and available clinical trials, which broadens the scope of treatment possibilities. A specialised oncology team is available to interpret the report results to patient’s treating oncologist.

Who is eligible?

The diagnostic test is intended for patients who have been diagnosed with colon, breast, or prostate cancer and their performance status on the ECOG scale is between 0-2 (a score indicating how well the patient is able to function and how the disease affects the daily living abilities). It is required for the patient to have a sample of their tumour tissue (or blood) and a histological and/or pathological analysis of this sample. The sample will be returned to its place of origin after the analysis.
