About me

I have more than 25 years of experience dealing with immune-mediated neuropathies and other disorders of nerves and muscles. Drawing upon my in diagnosing and managing patients with neuromuscular disorders and other complex neurological disorders, I now also work with individuals with hypermobility, EDS, POTS and related conditions (including mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), craniocervical instability (CCI), spinal fluid leaks, migraines, and small fibre neuropathy). I was the 2021 recipient of the Community Choice Award for Healthcare Professionals from The Ehlers-Danlos Society. I am well-known for my research and publications regarding immune-mediated and small-fiber neuropathies, including chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).

I am the director of the Center for Complex Neurology, EDS & POTS in Phoenix, AZ, USA. I am a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. I completed a Neurology residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a Neuromuscular Disease/Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. I am board-certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology. I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
